My family had a great time, the house was clean, and cozy and we loved the rustic look. We liked the openness and how quiet it was. I like how the grandkids couldn't be on their tablets and cell phones all day. We enjoyed sitting on the porch grilling steak's while listening to music and watching the kids have good time. We will defiantly be back soon.

Everything was as described! The house is spacious and very Quiet! Cattle run the property and make an early morning visit every day. Secluded and comfortable is an understatement. This house is on my list for a long time to come.

We had a great time on our girls' weekend.
I thought the home would be closer to Llano, but it's actually just outside of Castel. It was easy to find.
If you're looking for a nice, quiet and out of the way vacation, this is a great place.
The house was large, fairly clean and very quiet. We loved our stay and will definitely recommend it to others.
The owner of the home was exceptional.

This building is BEAUTIFUL - the stone craftsmanship and red accents will stay with us forever. There is a gate you pass through to get to the house - and adorable cattle walking freely throughout the ranch (although there is a fence around the house, so they have been separated from the house). We spent most of the time on the porch and at the river, which were both spectacular. The river access looks different than the pictures due to a new, fancy bridge, but it didn't detract for the days on the river. The house is historic and there are some informational signage about its history that added context to the place. There are also reminders that its someone's home and it definitely reflects that others occupy the space. To add to that, as the photos show, there are a lot of antiques and eclectic adornments in the house, intended to add to the feel of the place. Worth noting is that two of the upstairs bedrooms adjoin to the bathroom, so the third room's guests will need to walk through others' bedrooms to get to the upstairs bathroom. Not a big deal for our group, but worth mentioning from a logistics and group dynamic lens (and we missed that in the photos). Amy was a fantastic communicator that helped us navigate our plans. To that, our group had a GREAT time at the Stein Haus and Llano river-- Texas treasures.
