About the Property
Our charming log cabin is built in the classic Southern “dogtrot” style, featuring sleeping quarters at each end connected by an open breezeway. Originally constructed on the banks of the Cumberland River in Tennessee, The Dogtrot was relocated to the Texas Hill Country in 1997. For 10 consecutive years, it has been awarded “Outstanding Quality” by Historic Accommodations of Texas.
The property is entirely smoke-free, ensuring a clean and comfortable stay.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The cabin is secluded and feels very private, but is only a few minutes out of town so it’s also convenient. The history of our cabin was also very interesting. We saw so many deer, and relaxed out in the hammock under the trees. I can’t say enough great things about our time there. The communication with Fredericksburg Escapes couldn’t have been better. Would 100% go back again!

There are few places which exude such charm and peace as you find at Ab Butler's Dogtrot cabin. We enjoyed sitting outside with the butterflies, birds, and occasional moo from nearby cattle and soft breezes! You can't go wrong with this little piece of heaven!!
